Give Thanks
I prayed for something for a couple of months, and today, I received it. I knew it was in the works. Allah was creating these small but noticeable fractures through which light could shine. Sometimes, I saw the light; other times I purposely put on my sunglasses and avoided the light. I wanted to be delivered from this situation, but was hesitant. Allah answered, pushed me into a corner to be decisive. His answer was not given in the way that I wanted. It was not seamless. It was not pleasant. It was hurtful. But it was necessary. A mask was removed. I saw. I am writing this here not to be spiteful, but to be truthful. We pray for things and part of that prayer is the expectation that we will not only get what we ask for, but that it is given when we want it, and how we want it. In 2012, accept the gifts the creator bestows on you. Don’t complain about how it was given or when it was given; rather be grateful for the gift itself. Give thanks.
