I am working on a follow-up to The Black Female Body: A Photographic History, which I co-authored with Deborah Willis and which was published almost 11 years ago (and is long out of print). The follow-up volume will focus solely on the representation of black women by black women artists.

I am seeking work by contemporary African diaspora women photographic artists that addresses the black female body. This can include representational work, the absence of the body (eg., landscapes), etc.—however you’re conceptualizing black women’s bodies.

Please send your information/links to bodies of work/queries, etc., by March 30, 2013.
